In June, actual unemployment rate in Latvia constituted 6.3% and compared to May it reduced by 0.2%.
Unemployment rate among females fell by 0.1%, to 5.4%, and among males by 0.3%, to 7.2%, according to results of the Labour Force Survey conducted by the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia (CSP).
The unemployment rate registered with the State Employment Agency (NVA) accounted for 5.9%, and since May it had dropped by 0.2%. Compared to June 2021, both the actual and the registered unemployment rate has gone down by 1.5%.
In June, in Latvia there were 59.7 thousand unemployed persons (25.5 thousand females and 34.2 thousand males), down by 1.5 thousand MoM and by 13.3 thousand YoY.
Over the month the number of unemployed men reduced by 1.2 thousand and of unemployed women by 0.3 thousand.
The registered unemployment rate in the NVA is calculated using data on registered unemployed persons held by the agency and data on active population (employed and unemployed persons) of working age provided by the CSP.
