Board Chairman of PJSC Ukzaliznytsia Wojciech Balczun says that UAH 2.5 billion is planned to be invested in Lviv Railways in 2017.
Speaking at a press conference in Lviv, Balczun stated that “a portion of these funds will be spent on infrastructure, another portion – on upgrading the rolling stock”.
In particular, he noted that the funds would be spent on the construction of the Beskydy railway tunnel, the reconstruction of 23 km of the Lviv-Stryi-Chop railway, and the overhaul of 33 km of railroad tracks. In addition, it is planned to purchase six new passenger carriages, upgrade 36 locomotives, and overhaul four electric locomotives and one diesel locomotive. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
