Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers recalled that he had earlier given instructions concerning the development of local airlines, the Turkmen government said in a message.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the management of Turkmenistan Airlines in meeting the needs of the country’s population in air transportation and noted that work in this area was being conducted extremely slowly.
“For example, industry rapidly develops in the south of the Lebap Province – bridges, railways, large enterprises, settlements are being created, but it takes a lot of time to get to these places,” the president said.
It was noted that a similar situation existed in the city of Garabogaz in the Balkan Province.
In this regard, Berdimuhamedov noted the necessity of building new airports, stressing the reasonability of temporarily using helicopters to carry people and transport cargo. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
