The main task of the Ukrainian government for 2017 is to accelerate economic growth so that people can feel the improvement in the quality of their lives, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated.
“Our task for 2017 is to continue accelerating economic growth. And so the plan for 2017 – a budget we’ve approved envisages that we will develop the Ukrainian industry, we will do everything to become energy independent, and this year we must solve the issue of building a fair pension system for Ukrainian citizens, for the most vulnerable Ukrainians – the pensioners,” said Groysman.
He noted that a report on the process and results of the carrying out a government’s action program for 2016 had been already represented.
According to the prime minister, government’s measures had already yielded certain results in economy.
In particular, the prime minister noted that among most significant improvements was Ukraine’s GDP growth to the level of 4.7% in the fourth quarter of 2016 and an increase in the salaries for teachers by 50%, for health workers – by30%, for rescuers – by UAH 2,000, and a twofold increase in minimum wages for all Ukrainian citizens.
