Completion of Bishkek – Kara-Balta road reconstruction project requires 2.5 years, the Minister of Transport and Roads Zhamshitbek Kalilov said.
According to him, it is planned to start the work in late April. But now it turns out that the project was changed a little. Due to lack of funds, the work will be started from the 15th kilometer of the road.
“We had to make a decision in favor of the first applicant. ADB urged to negotiate and to increase the bank guarantee. Negotiations lasted longer due to the fact that the guarantee was raised to 20%. The tender was completed. The winner of the tender must give a guarantee within 28 days. If this requirement is not met, then under the rules of the Asian Development Bank the right to implement the project is transferred to the second applicant,” Zhamshitbek Kalilov noted.
