The head of the state Shavkat Mirziyoev reviewed the projects on organization of production of textile products at LLC Janub textiles, Uzbek-English joint venture Amudar Tex in Termez and LLC Sherobod textile invest in Sherabad district.
The demand for “Made in Uzbekistan” textile products is growing all over the world. The climatic conditions of the Surkhan oasis are favorable for the production of raw materials for light industry. Farmers have accumulated rich experience in the cultivation of cotton. A favorable business climate for foreign investors, incentives and preferences are an important factor in the further development of the textile industry. The region attaches great attention to the effective use of available opportunities and the production of finished products from high-quality cotton fiber.
The commissioning of LLC Janub textile enterprise for the production of textile products will create 350 new jobs, while it will produce annually more than 5 thousand tons of yarn.
Uzbek-English joint venture Amudar Tex, which will start operations in 2018, will produce 7 thousand tons of yarn annually. Some 300 people will be employed there. It is planned to export products worth more than $10 million.
Modern technology of Sherobod textile invest allows producing 17 thousand tons of yarn per year. The construction of the facility will cost $46 million. The commissioning of this enterprise will provide employment to 700 people.
The head of the state noted that such industrial enterprises, with a vast potential in the sphere of processing of raw cotton and production of finished products, would play an important role in the sustainable development of the region’s economy. (UzReport/Business World Magazine)
