Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPP) of Ukraine in January decreased by 5.5% and as of February 1, stood at 1.948 million tons, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has reported.
In particular, gas coal and long-flame coal stocks amounted to 905,900 tons, while anthracite coal stocks amounted to 1.042 million tons.
Fuel oil stocks at TPPs in January fell by 23.5%, to 87,100 tons. Largest stocks are at warehouses of Kyiv’s combined heat and power plant No. 5 and combined heat and power plant No. 6 (21,700 tons and 10,200 tons), while 40,500 tons are at the rest of TPPs.
Coal stocks at TPPs as of February 1, were 26.5% lower than on February 1, 2016, fuel oil stocks were 33.3% lower.
Natural gas consumption by power plants in January amounted to 646.4 million cubic meters against 771.1 million cubic meters in January 2016 and 718.1 million cubic meters in December 2016.
In January TPPs and combined heat and power plants were supplied with 199,900 tons of imported coal, in particular Russia delivered 93,500 tons, South Africa 59,100 tons of coal, and Poland – 47,400 tons. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
