In 2016 Kyrgyzstan produced fewer clothes, but most of the metal ore. This was stated at a meeting of the board of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use.
According to its deputy chairman Kuban Myrzakanov, over the past year the industry produced goods at 205,265.6 billion soms, and without companies developing the Kumtor mine – at 108.31.5 billion.
Growth of industrial production by 3.7% in 2016 was provided for by an increase in metal ore mining (2.3 times), production of refined petroleum products (44.4%), food products (16.7%), production of precious metals (5%).
However, there is lag from the level of 2015 in the production of clothing (20%) and other non-metallic mineral products (8.4%), textiles (12.6%), electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 3.5%). (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
