The first convoy of trucks from Kyrgyzstan to China goes along Bishkek – Kashkar – Urumqi route, the Ministry of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The pilot convoy of eight vehicles will reach the capital of China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in four days and will return to Kyrgyzstan. The issue of the opening of the international freight route Bishkek – Kashkar – Urumqi and Osh – Kashkar – Urumqi was resolved during the negotiations between the transport delegations of Kyrgyzstan and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China on November 17, 2016.
For free movement of transport and compliance with the legislation norms, the Chinese side handed the Chinese weight and dimensional standards, traffic rules, transportation of goods by road and other regulatory documents required for the transport operations in China to the Kyrgyz side.
After the attack on August 30, 2016 the Chinese Embassy in Bishkek temporarily suspended the issuance of visas. After numerous meetings and negotiations, on November 29, 2016 it began working in restricted mode by setting a quota for admission of documents. As of today it is 75 persons per week.
