Over the 9 months of 2016 the sales volume in the electronic communications sector of Moldova contracted by 3% to MDL 5,047,200,000.
In particular, in Q3 the total sales volume on the markets of mobile telephony, broadband Internet access, fixed telephony, fixed Internet access, audio-visual retransmission, etc. amounted to MDL 1 billion 722.1 million, down by 3.5% YoY, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information technology (ANRCETI) reports. The decrease was formed by the contraction in the sales volumes on the markets of fixed telephony, audiovisual content transmission and other services, ANRCETI says. The sales volume on the market of fixed telephony reduced by 20% to MDL 205.7 million, the sales volume of the audiovisual content transmission decreased by 18.5% to MDL 68.5 million, while the sales volume on the market of other services fell by 31.3% to MDL 89 million.
The sales volumes on the markets of mobile communications, broadband Internet access and fixed Internet access grew. In particular, the sales volume on the market of broadband Internet access increased by 23.5% to MDL 189 million; of fixed Internet access – by 7.7% to MDL 282.4 million; on the mobile telephony market – by 2.1% to MDL 991.4 million. The highest ARPUs were reported by the market of fixed Internet access and the market of mobile telephony, amounting to MDL 172.6 and MDL 88.4 respectively. ARPU on the rest of the market was as follows: MDL 58 on the fixed telephony market; MDL 46.9 on the market of paid TV and MDL 22.8 on the broadband Internet access market.
