Plans have been made to adopt a document formalizing the intended figures of food export to Russia in February 2017, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats reported.
The official specified that Belarus was planning to sell some 4.1 million tons of milk and dairy products and over 300,000 tons meat and meat products to Russia in 2017.
When asked about the prospects for the lifting of Russia’s temporary ban imposed on a number of Belarusian dairy plants, Leonid Zayats said that the issue was discussed at the meeting of the Agriculture Ministers of Belarus and Russia in Moscow. “The Russian Ministry of Agriculture suggested that Rosselkhoznadzor take a closer look at these plants and decide whether to resume the imports of Belarusian products”, Leonid Zayats said.
