Belarus’ energy concern Belenergo will spend $49.5 million in 2016 to purchase electric energy produced by power generating facilities, which use renewable energy sources, a Belenergo official reported.
Belarus’ green power generating facilities will produce an estimated 281.8 million kWh of electric energy in 2016
Belenergo’s tariff on electricity produced by power generating facilities, which use wind power and flowing water, stands at 14.8 cent per 1kWh during the first 10-year period after the launch of the power facility; biomass, wood – 16 cent, solar energy – 30.8 cent.
Belarus offers favorable conditions for investments in renewable energy projects. President Lukashenko’s ordinance #209 of May 18, 2015 was designed to make more favourable conditions for investors willing to build sources of renewable energy. The document mentions state guarantees, step-up tariffs to be effective during a ten-year period since the launch of each particular source of renewable energy. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
