Belarus’ Mogilev region and Turkey are set to strengthen their interaction. Matters of bilateral cooperation were discussed during a meeting between Mogilev region Governor Vladimir Domanevsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Belarus Kezban Nilvana Darama on October 18.
Kezban Nilvana Darama said that there were great prospects for the development of the cooperation between Belarus and Turkey.
“We hope that 2017 will be a more fruitful year for our relations, first of all, in economy, as we plan to improve our legislation and expand the opportunities for mutual investment. Besides, the two countries will mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2017. Different regions of Belarus and Turkey will host joint events to celebrate the anniversary, which will contribute to the development of the interregional cooperation”, the diplomat said.
She emphasized that although the trade and economic relations were of great importance, they could be the only basis for the cooperation between the two countries.
“We need to make more effort to boost our ties in culture, tourism and education so that the people of Belarus and Turkey could learn more about each other and implement joint projects. This will intensify the ties of friendship between our nations and strengthen our mutually beneficial cooperation”, Kezban Nilvana Darama believes.
Vladimir Domanevsky noted that Mogilev region was willing to boost its cooperation with Turkey in all areas. He believes that the development of the relations with the regions of Turkey would make a considerable contribution to this.
“We should conduct specific projects and bolster the ties between the cities that have already agreed on twinning relations, such as Mogilev and Bursa, Bobruisk and Side. We are ready to offer favorable investment terms in Mogilev region to our Turkish partners and invite them to develop cooperation in education, culture and tourism. I think we should also pay more attention to youth exchanges. It is the youth that will be building our future relations. This is another reason for us to advance our mutually beneficial cooperation”, Vladimir Domanevsky said.
He invited Kezban Nilvana Darama and Turkish businessmen to attend the 8th international investment forum Mill of Success to be held in Mogilev region on November 4-5. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
