At an intergovernmental meeting between the Kyrgyz authorities and the Chinese authorities, the Minister of Economy said that the country could increase the volume of exports of agricultural products to other countries of the EEA (market of 170 million persons) and to China.
Export of Kyrgyz products to China increased by 88.3% in 2016 and China could quickly become the customer No. 1 country currently exporting most of its products to Russia and Kazakshtan. China is the closest neighbor of Kyrgyzstan, its consumption increases and the demand for high quality products as well.
The two countries should strengthen their trade agreements. Kyrgyzstan annually produces 800,000 tons of fruit & vegetables, agriculture represents 14% of GDP. (Fructidor/Business World Magazine)
