The Belarusian Industry Ministry and the Chinese company Zoomlion intend to implement a number of joint projects in the area of mechanical engineering. Belarusian Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk made the statement at a press conference on October 12, as he commented on results of the recent visit of the Belarusian delegation led by the Belarus president to China.
During the visit the Industry Ministry and Zoomlion signed a roadmap for long-term cooperation. The document includes MAZ, MTZ, Gomselmash, and Strommashina. The document explains how the production of machines and equipment in Belarus and China will develop in the next few years.
The Industry Minister reminded that Zoomlion was a resident of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. The company intends to make products for the emergency response and rescue service in Belarus such as fire trucks and vehicles able to pump water as high as 50 meters and more.
“As far as Gomselmash is concerned, we have agreed to share our competences: we are going to master the production of compact harvesters, which are absent in our product lineup. Our large grain harvesters as well as forage harvesters will be sold to China”, Vitaly Vovk explained. “We supply vehicles for certification over there while China will start manufacturing here soon”.
In China memorandums of intent were signed by the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, by the Belarusian heavy truck manufacturer OAO BelAZ and its Chinese counterpart Sanjiang.
On the whole, Belarus is interested in developing cooperation with Chinese partners in a number of areas, the Industry Minister stressed. Among priority areas he mentioned agricultural mechanical engineering and the production of automobile components. Partnership in making personal watercraft and equipment to transport liquefied gas on vehicles is under consideration. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
