Belarus’ foreign trade surplus totaled $181.3 million in January-August compared to a $1.081 billion surplus in January-August 2015, the National Bank of Belarus said in an online report.
The overall turnover of commodities and services in foreign trade shrank by 12.7% YoY to $38.138 billion.
Exports of commodities and services reduced by 14.4% YoY to $19.16 billion, and imports decreased by 10.9% to $18.978 billion.
According to the NBB, the deficit of foreign trade in goods totaled $1.212 billion compared to a deficit of $472.7 million in January-August 2015.
Commodity exports (in FOB prices) reduced by 17.3% YoY in January-August to $14.895 billion; imports were down by 12.8% to $16.107 billion.
Belarus produced a service trade surplus in January-August, which reached $1.393 billion to compare with a $1.554 billion surplus in January-August 2015.
Export of services decreased by 2.6% YoY in January-August to $4.265 billion, imports went up by 1.7% to $2.871 billion. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
