According to the results of the second review of implementation of the IMF program by Ukraine, the fund is “impressed” by the government’s efforts to carry out reforms and renew its economy.
Director of the IMF’s European Department Poul M. Thomsen said this during a press conference in Washington.
“We see that (economic) policy is on the right track and meets the program’s goals. What does this mean? Frankly, I think if we look at the macroeconomic achievements of Ukraine, we will see that they are great”, the representative of the fund said.
In this regard, he welcomed the achievements in the financial regulation despite a significant increase in the security and defense spending. According to Thomsen, the Ukrainian government has made a “significant progress” in the implementation of structural reforms. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
