In January-July Azerbaijan imported wheat from Kazakhstan valued at $3.2 million, or 73% of the general volume of Kazakh exports to the country, the Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Natig Aliyev declared.
Kazakhstan is the strategic partner of Azerbaijan in the issue of food security. Azerbaijan is a regular customer of Kazakh wheat, he said.
According to Aliyev, the annual wheat production in Azerbaijan totals 1.7 million tons. The country covers its additional demand of 1.3 million tons per year by imports from Russia and Kazakhstan. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
