On September 30, the international exhibition of arms ADEX-2016 came to an end.
Ukraine was represented by the State Concern “UkrOboronProm,” having represented Ukrainian armored vehicles, combat modules, aviation and marine industries projects, missiles and other samples of military equipment.
On the first day of the exhibition, September 27, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev – with whom the prospects of cooperation in military-technical collaboration and strategic aspects of bilateral cooperation in defense industry were discussed – visited Ukrainian booth.
A series of talks on joint production of high-precision weapons – developed and manufactured by UOP enterprises – were held with representatives of Azerbaijan. Guided munitions and portable antitank guided missile launchers were the main subjects of the talks held.
In the frameworks of the exhibition, UOP enterprise UkrOboronProm SE “SpetsTehnoEksport” introduced a new combat module “Taipan”, its combat characteristics meet the highest Western standards. The combat module of domestic production is mounted on the armored vehicle of “AZCAN” company, a joint project of Azerbaijan and Canada.
In addition ADEX-2016 has become a convenient platform for negotiations between military-industrial companies from all over the world. During the expo UkrOboronProm held several dozen meetings and negotiations with foreign companies. Among them IMI SYSTEMS – Israel’s defense industry leader – and the powerful Turkish manufacturer of electronic systems Aselsan Elektronik.
A number of individual negotiations were held with the leadership of 558 Aviation Repair Plant of Republic of Belarus on cooperation in overall reconditioning and modernization of helicopters.
UkrOboronProm is developing within the frameworks of the strategy “Ukrainian shield,” focused on high-tech production, transition to international standards (NATO) and supplying the army with modern types of armaments.
