In Kazakhstan there are nearly 250 milling plant which are able to process 11 million tons of grains, but to date they are loaded at nearly 40.3% of their capacities, the Director of the Grain Processors and Bakers Union of Kazakhstan Evgeny Gan declared.
According to him, flour is the major export position, and it is the single commodity, which is completely covered by domestic production capacities. Kazakhstan imports almost no flour.
Also, Gan noted that in the general structure of Kazakhstan’s revenues the share of wheat sales totaled nearly 2%, flour – 0.88%, petroleum and its by-products – 64%. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
