Belarus’ cargo traffic by all means of transport reduced by 4.5% YoY in January-August to 285.566 million tons, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report.
Cargo transportation by railways in January-August stood at 81.602 million tons (down by 5% YoY), including transit cargo traffic – 20 million tons (down by 22.3%). Oil and petroleum products, chemical and mineral fertilizers, construction materials and timber made up the bulk of railway cargo traffic in January-August.
Cargo deliveries by motorway transport reduced b 4.4% YoY to 118.325 million tons, pipeline deliveries – by 3.6% to 84.219 million tons; air transport went up by 40% to 34,000 tons.
The total value of exported transport services in January-July reached $1.606 billion (down by 5.6%). The total value of imported transport services came at $703.6 million in Jan-July, down by 4.3% YoY. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
