As of September 20, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 40.812 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 10.392 million ha, or 72% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.93 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 39.3 million tons.
In particular, agrarians continued harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 2.062 million tons of corn throughout 445 thousand ha (10%). The average yield reached 4.63 ton/ha.
Also, Ukraine harvested 159 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 125 thousand ha (83%). The average yield totaled 1.27 ton/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 94 thousand ha (91%). The production volumes totaled 172 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.83 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 5.51 million tons of sunflower seed throughout 2.601 million ha (44%), with the average yield of 2.21 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 1.389 million tons throughout the areas of 661 thousand ha (36%), with the average yield of 2.1 ton/ha.
22 regions of Ukraine started the planting campaign of winter grains. As of September 20, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 1.397 million ha (19% of the plan), as opposed to 1.69 million ha on the same date last year.
In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 1.319 million ha (21%), rye – 51 thousand ha (34%), and barley – 27 thousand ha (3%). Also, Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout 653 thousand ha (90%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
