Uralkali in association with Uralchem, have presented a new joint project at the Khimia-2016 exhibition – production of granular amines.
Granular amines are unique for the Russian chemical industry; they are intended to replace imported analogues in the domestic market. This is one of the basic reagents used in the flotation method of processing of potash ore. Characteristics of the new product best meet the unique composition of potash ore from the Verkhnekamskoye potassium and magnesium salt field. Production of granular amines by Uralkali’s order has begun at Azot Branch of JSC Uralchem (Berezniki).
Pilot tests on the use of granular amines in the production of potash fertilisers are carried out at Solikamsk-3 ore-treatment mill.
Dmitry Osipov, Uralkali CEO, commented: “Uralkali constantly works to improve the efficiency of its operations. The new joint project of the two companies is the best proof of that. Considering the socio-economic component, we effectively implement a set of measures to substitute imports and develop the domestic chemical industry. The commercial component of the project consists of using granular amines of higher quality and reducing logistic and financial costs of their purchase”.
Uralkali is one of the world’s largest potash producers and exporters. The company’s assets consist of 5 mines and 7 ore-treatment mills situated in the towns of Berezniki and Solikamsk (Perm Territory, Russia).
