French company Danone is considering the prospects of purchasing a third dairy plant in Belarus.
Belarusian Prime-Minister Andrei Kobyakov made a statement to this effect at a meeting with French Ambassador in Minsk Dominique Gazuy upon completion of her diplomatic mission to Belarus.
The premier said: “French companies have been paying attention to Belarus in the last few years. There are already joint projects in the area of automobile engineering, hotel business, and agriculture. Apart from that, a French company has supplied a tunnel-boring machine for metro construction, which is an important project for us. Cooperation continues as part of the project to make Danone dairy products. There are two dairy processing factories operating in that project, and the parties are discussing the prospects of purchasing a third plant”.
Danone incorporates two companies Unimilk Shklov JV (Mogilev region) and Unimilk Pruzhany (Brest region).
According to Kobyakov, a visit of representatives of French business circles to Belarus under the aegis of the major association of businessmen MEDEF could encourage more French companies to do business in Belarus. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
