Agrometeorological conditions for soil preparation and autumn sowing vary all over the country. Waterlogging of 10-cm soil layer was noted in some places of Vitebsk, Grodno and Minsk regions due to the rains, which complicates the conditions of field works. During the next few days the top layer of waterlogged soil will dry due to the warm weather without significant precipitation, which will allow increasing the pace of winter crops sowing.
In the southern part of Belarus, where rainfall deficit was observed during the long period, lack of soil moisture is still seen. Conditions of winter crops do not favor sowing and emergence of winter rapeseed sprouts and they won’t improve soon due to precipitation shortage.
All over the week the weather was favorable for corn harvesting for silage and grain. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
