As of September 12, winter grains had been sown at 7404.8 thousand ha, 42.7% of the plan (17.35 million ha). On the same date of 2015 sowing had been carried out at 6741.7 thousand ha.
In Ural federal district winter sowing was carried out at 94% – at 63.9 thousand ha, in Privolzhsky – at 78.7% (3731.2 thousand ha), in Siberian – 80.1% (289 thousand ha), in North-Western – 28.7% (38.5 thousand ha), in Central – 50.6% (1980.6 thousand ha) and in the Southern – 22.2% (1299.4 thousand ha).
