According to Kazakh Agrarian Ministry, over the last season Kazakh wheat exports to China were four times as high as in 2014/2015.
In 2014/2015 MY 110 KMT was exported and in 2015/2016 the volumes reached 414 KMT. This became possible due to the possibility to transport grain in sacks as well as bulk according to the agreement signed between representatives of both countries in December 2015.
Currently there are negotiations with National Commission on reforms and development of People’s Republic of China, so as to grant Kazakh companies the possibility to increase in the next 3 years their milling wheat export quotas from 500 KMT to 1 MMT. Export quota for 300 KMT of feed wheat is being negotiated with the further increase next year to 2.5 MMT. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
