Kazakhstan plans to export 8.5 million tons of grains in 2016/2017 MY, including flour in grain equivalent, the Deputy Chairman of Board of the National Company Food Contract Corporation JSC Sabit B. Kashkimbayev declared.
In terms of the forecast grain harvest in the country, the export volumes will reach 8.5 million tons of grains, including the supplies to the traditional markets in Central Asia: Afghanistan – 4.2 million tons, Iran – 1.8 million tons, China – nearly 500 thousand tons, Azerbaijan – nearly 500 thousand tons, Georgia – 200 thousand tons, Russia – nearly 900 thousand tons, etc., he said.
At the same time, S. Kashkimbayev stressed that the forecast supply and demand balances allowed to completely secure the domestic market and keep the export potential at a rather high level.
