Belarus’ foreign trade surplus totaled $64.3 million in January-July compared to a $974.3 million surplus in January-July 2015, the National Bank of Belarus said.
The overall turnover of commodities and services in foreign trade shrank by 14.3% YoY in January-July to $32.874 billion.
Exports of commodities and services reduced by 16.3% YoY to $16.469 billion, and imports decreased by 12.2% to $16.405 billion.
According to the NBB, the deficit of foreign trade in goods totaled $1.116 billion in January-July compared to a deficit of $418.4 million in January-July 2015.
Commodity exports (in FOB prices) reduced by 18.7% YoY in January-July to $12.881 billion; imports were down by 13.9% to $13.997 billion.
Belarus produced a service trade surplus in January-July, which reached $1.18 billion to compare with a $1.393 billion surplus in January-July 2015.
Export of services decreased by 6.1% YoY to $3.588 billion, imports were down by 0.8% to $2.408 billion.
As previously reported, Belarus’ foreign trade surplus totaled $205.7 million in 2015. The overall turnover of commodities and services in foreign trade totaled $65.56 billion. Exports of commodities and services made up $32.883 billion, and imports reached $32.677 billion. Commodity exports (in FOB prices) totaled $26.209 billion; with imports at $28.327 billion.
