The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has made changes to the structure of its central administration unit, abolishing the agricultural and food market regulation, food and processing industry and creating two separate divisions.
The Department of Agro-Industrial Market Regulation will be headed by Vladimir Volik and will focus on the strategic planning and management of agro-industrial markets, the organization of state intervention, the implementation of import substitution policies in agriculture and food security doctrine, as well as the development of the distribution infrastructure.
The Department of Food and Food Processing Industries will be led by Eugene Akhpashev. This department will include the development of sectors of the food processing industry, the development and implementation of state support for the food industry measures, the industry’s development of viticulture and winemaking, as well as technical regulation issues.
