Belarus’ petrochemicals plant Polimir considers the European Union a priority market for acrylic fiber export, a company official said.
Polimir exports 80% of synthetic fiber and views the EU as a lucrative market, as acrylic fiber prices are high there. Besides, the manufacturer is geographically close to the EU, which reduces the delivery time after receiving advance payments.
Polimir currently exports acrylic fiber to Germany, Bulgaria, Italy, Macedonia, Serbia, France, Lithuania and Poland, Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, India, China, Argentina and Vietnam.
Polimir manufactures around 38,000 tons of acrylic fiber a year.
Polimir (incorporated by OAO Naftan) is a prominent chemical enterprise in Belarus. Its technologies are based on pyrolysis of hydrocarbon feedstock: gasoline and light hydrocarbon fractions of oil and gas refineries. Polimir produces high-pressure polyethylene, polyacrylonitrile fibers, organic synthesis make and consumer goods.
Polimir products are exported to more than 40 countries. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
