In H1 2016 resident companies in Belarusian free economic zones (FEZ) secured a surplus of foreign trade in merchandise as large as $452.6 million, up by 14.6% YoY, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus reported.
In H1 2016 their merchandise export reached $1,718.3 million, up by 2.1% YoY. The top exports were tires, mixed mineral fertilizers, particleboards, plastic packaging, furniture and parts thereof.
Merchandise import amounted to $1,265.7 million, down by 5.7% YoY.
Product profitability stood at 11.2%, up from 10% in H1 2015.
As of July 1, there were 413 operating resident companies in the free economic zones in Belarus. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
