On July 18, the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP and its faction in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis organized a round table on the “Importance of small industrial zones to increase the gross domestic product of the country and the socio-economic development of regions”.
The event was attended by members of UzLiDeP faction, deputy groups in local councils, representatives of several ministries, state committees, chambers, entrepreneurs and business people operating in small industrial zones.
Small industrial zones organized in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional measures aimed at sale of state-owned facilities to small businesses and private entrepreneurs” along with support and further development of the activities of businesses play an important role in increasing the industrial potential of the regions.
Small industrial zones contribute to the organization of competitive products, creating new jobs and ensuring growth in household income, an increase in gross domestic product of the country and the socio-economic development of regions.
“In its pre-election program UzLiDeP determined the tasks to increase the share of small businesses in gross domestic product of the country, in order to achieve the main goal – to reach the level of developed democratic countries in the world”, said the deputy of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, member of UzLiDeP faction C. Djumamuratova. “In this regard, UzLiDeP will pay special attention to the creation of favorable conditions to increase the participation of small businesses in the industrial production”.
It should be noted that in the framework of a comprehensive solution of this problem Uzbekistan implements wide-ranging reforms, specific programs and measures. Among them is a program of measures on structural reforms, modernization and diversification of production for 2015-2019 and the program of localization and production of finished products, components and materials in 2015-2019.
According to the documents, special industrial zones aimed at the rational and efficient use of state property, production and resource, create new jobs, deepen localization of production, etc.
“Our country plans to create 53 small industrial zones in Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Namangan, Surkhandarya and Khorezm regions with territory of 300 hectares or more.
