In January-June Belarus reduced the import of goods and services by 11% to $14.15 billion in comparison with the same period last year, the official website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus reported.
In January-June Belarus’ foreign trade was down by 13.6% YoY, to $28.156 billion. Export totaled $14 billion, down by 16.1%, import stood at $14.15 billion (down by 11%). As a result, Belarus had a $148.7 million deficit in the foreign trade in goods and services.
The foreign trade turnover in goods contracted by 15.9% to $23.015 billion. The export of goods went down by 18.8% to $10.9 billion, import – by 13% to $12.1 billion. The trade deficit totaled $1.1 billion.
In January-June foreign trade surplus in services reached $990.5 million (up by 16.1%). Over the first six months the foreign trade in services stood at $5.14 billion (98% to the same period in 2015). The export of services made up $3.1 billion (95.4%), import – $2.1 billion (102.1%).
