Analysts of Rusagrotrans CJSC increased their estimations of the general grain harvest in Russia in the current year to 115.8 million tons, as opposed to 113 million tons of the previous forecast, the Deputy Director of the strategic management department at Rusagrotrans CJSC Igor Pavensky declared.
Rusagrotrans increased the forecast due to significantly improved estimations of the general planted areas, especially for wheat and pulses. Also, the analysts took into account the recent figures on high yield indices in almost all regions of Russia, except for the Northwestern Federal District, said Pavensky.
He noted that the upward adjustments touched all major crops. In particular, wheat harvest will reach 70 million tons, against 68.4 million tons from the previous forecast.
It is quite possible that the reporting index may rise to nearly 71 million tons, after the final yield results from the Siberia are received, the expert added.
As for the barley, the production volumes will total 18.3 million tons, against 17.8 million tons. Rusagrotrans analysts estimated the corn harvest at 13.8 million tons, other grains and pulses – at 13.5 million tons. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
