In the beginning of 2016/2017 MY, the export rates of Russian grains will be slightly lower compared with the same period last season, the Deputy Director of the strategic management department at Rusagrotrans CJSC Igor Pavensky has said.
In July the volumes of grain exports will total nearly 2 million tons (the forecast remained unchanged), against 2.66 million tons in July 2015. In August, the exports will increase to nearly 3.5 million tons, while in the same month last year the index totaled 4.2 million tons, said the expert.
Also, Pavensky added that the export shipments of grains from the deep-sea ports of Russia would demonstrate the similar downward trend.
In July, the deep-sea ports will export not less than 907.8 thousand tons of grains, down by 14% YoY. To date, the volume of applications for shipments in August totals 984.6 thousand tons, which is also significantly lower compared with the same month last year (1.97 million tons), said the analyst.
