Potato plant in Talas should be launched by August 15, Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov said, noting that the company was idle due to the irresponsibility of the officials.
The department of information support of the government reported that the Prime Minister instructed the state authorities to resolve all contentious issues related to the running of the plant by August 15. State Customs Service should clear equipment. Management of State Property Fund and Kyrgyz Agro Food Corporation JSC must evaluate and establish a joint Kyrgyz-Indian venture.
The object was built at the end of 2011. The equipment was provided by the Government of India in the form of a grant of $2.4 million. The estimated cost of the project amounted to 21 million soms. Since then, the enterprise hadn’t worked. (24.kg/Business World Magazine)
