Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will boost their consumption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to 5 million tons per year by 2035, Russia’s Deputy Energy Minister Kirill Molodtsov said.
“Currently the LNG market is the fastest growing and in this respect we expect the consumption of liquefied natural gas to reach around 5 million tons (per year) by 2035”, he said.
According to Molodtsov, LNG consumption has virtually doubled over the past 15 years, and the trend will persist.
Earlier Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that global LNG consumption would double in the nearest future from 300 to 600 million tons per year. (TASS/Business World Magazine)
