The Russian Defense Ministry will receive 7 modernized Tu-95MS strategic cruise missile carriers, Tupolev PJSC director general Alexander Konyukhov said.
The ministry has already received the first Tu-95MS aircraft, which had been modernized in accordance with the state requirements and technical documentation, according to Konyukhov.
“In accordance with conditions of state contracts, the Russian Defense Ministry will receive seven more modernized Tu-95MS planes”, Konyukhov said.
Tu-95MS is a strategic bomber, which is capable of carrying long-range strategic air-launched cruise missiles. The aircraft was put into serial production in 1981 and is a modification of the Soviet-made Tu-95 strategic bomber, which has been in service since 1957. (Russian Aviation/Business World Magazine)
