Belarusian enterprises will connect to the Sirano rapid alert system. Such an agreement was reached by the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) at a meeting on July 6, Alexei Bogdanov, the head of the main division for foreign economic affairs at the Agriculture and Food Ministry, said.
The meeting was planned in advance to discuss the bilateral deliveries of meat and dairy products.
“The parties agreed that Belarusian companies would install Sirano system”, Alexei Bogdanov informed. He explained that the system alerted about the control actions in respect of goods. It will enable enterprises to respond quickly to possible changes in the situation. Alexei Bogdanov noted that soon Bryansk would host a meeting to discuss the issues regarding the connection to the Sirano system and the ways of enhancing laboratory control over quality and safety of products of the two countries.
The meeting will be attended by representatives of the companies and the veterinary services. According to Alexei Bogdanov, the meeting also discussed the issues of forgery. Belarusian products are in demand in Russia and therefore are often counterfeited. The parties agreed that Belarus would inform Russia on such cases to help Rosselkhoznadzor track them. Alexei Bogdanov noted that participants also talked over supplies of Belarusian milk powder to Russia. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
