In May Ukraine imported 11.8 KMT of palm oil against 7.7 KMT in May 2015. Slight reduction in this product imports was observed for the second consecutive month. In April Ukraine imported 14 KMT.
This reduction didn’t have a great impact on the season’s results. During the first nine months of the current season (September 2015 – May 2016) palm oil imports to Ukraine were more than 22% higher than last season. If we consider a longer period, palm oil imports to Ukraine decreased due to reduction of domestic consumption and this product processing.
Malaysia with a share of nearly 57%, and Indonesia – about 35% (136.2 KMT) – remained the main suppliers of palm oil to Ukraine in season 2015/2016 (September-May). (Blackseagrain/Business World Magazine)
