In 2015, the production of sunflower seed became the most profitable type of agricultural business in Ukraine, with the profitability index at 80.5% in UAH, and the production of eggs took the second position at 60.9%, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on July 4.
The leaders of the rating did not change compared with the previous year. But profitability of egg production increased by several percent, while the sunflower seed profitability doubled, according to the announcement.
The UAH profitability of grains production in 2015 totaled 43.1%, that of sugar beet – 28.2%, of potatoes – 24.2%, of pork – 12.7%, and of milk – 12.6%.
At the same time, the production of sheep and goats meat showed the greatest loss index at -29.6%, with cattle meat at -17.9%, and poultry meat on the level of -6.1%. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
