The capacity of Belarus’ automobile tire market is likely to reduce slightly in 2016, Belarus’ tire manufacturer Belshina said in a statement.
Belarus’ tire market grew to 1.4 million units in H1 2016, including passenger car tires – 67.3% (down by 2,7% since early 2016), truck tires – 16.5% (up by 1.5%), farming machinery tires – 4.4%, commercial vehicle tires – 4.8% (up by 1.2%). Imported tires accounted for 70% of the total capacity of Belarus’ tire market.
The capacity of Belarus’ automobile tire market stood at 2.86 million units in 2015, down by 3.4% YoY. The share of passenger car tires grew by 5% in 2015.
In 2015 Belarus imported 1.9 million automobile tires, up by 7% YoY. Passenger car tires accounted for more than 75% of tires imported to Belarus in 2015.
Belarus imported tires from Russia (60%), Korea, Hungary and China.
The state-owned tire manufacturer OAO Belshina is one of Europe’s largest producers of tires. It manufactures over 300 models of tires for all kinds of vehicles. The company also makes non-standard equipment and spare parts. The Russian market accounts for 41% of Belshina’s exports. 60% of tires produced by Belshina are exported to external markets.
