As of August 25, Russian agrarians continued harvesting grains and pulses. Agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 28.5 million ha (on the same date in 2015 – 24 million ha), or 60% of the planned areas (47.3 million ha). The produced volumes reached 85 million tons of grains, with the average yield of 2.98 ton/ha (in 2015 – 66.2 million tons with the yield of 2.76 ton/ha), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 17.7 million ha (63.8% of the plan). The produced volumes reached 59.5 million tons, with the yield of 3.37 ton/ha.
Russia harvested 15.481 million tons of winter and spring barley throughout 6.214 million ha (74.4%). The average yield totaled 2.49 ton/ha.
Agrarians harvested corn throughout 3.4 thousand ha (0.1%), and produced 20.1 thousand tons of grain, with the average yield at 5.89 ton/ha.
Russia harvested winter rapeseed throughout 181.2 thousand ha (18.2%), and produced 276.7 thousand tons of the oilseed, with the average yield of 1.53 ton/ha.
Russian agrarians continued the sunflower harvesting campaign. Agrarians harvested 37.2 thousand tons of the oilseed throughout 20.2 thousand ha (0.3%). The average yield totaled 1.85 ton/ha.
Also, agrarians of Krasnodar Krai started harvesting soybeans: the harvested areas reached 19.1 thousand ha, the produced volumes – 35.4 thousand tons, the average yield – 1.85 ton/ha.
Russia harvested flaxseed throughout 21.8 thousand ha only, or 45.3% of the planted areas.
As of August 25, Russian agrarians planted winter crops for the harvest-2017 throughout 1.1 million ha, or 6.5% of the planned areas (in 2015 – 1.5 million ha). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
