On August 29 – September 4, the Customs Service collected over 539 million lei (about 26.9 million euros) from the state budget, up by 7.1% from the budgetary burden established for this period.
According to the service, private people brought goods with the customs value exceeding the non-taxable limit. Payments of over 15 million lei were collected, which represented 2.8% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.
Also, last week, 10,795 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 103,989 crossings.
62 violations of customs legislation were found in the period and fines of over 199 thousand lei were applied. In August, customs officials established 373 violations and imposed fines of 1,437,567 lei. At the same time, since the beginning of the year, 3,596 cases have been found and fines of 12,971,911 lei have been applied.
