Liquefied gas exports to Ukraine by Belarus’ state oil and gas production monopoly Belorusneft edged down by 7.5% YoY in January-May 2016 to $26.776 million, a source in the profile ministry said.
Belorusneft runs a special facility, which produces liquefied gas.
Belarus increased liquefied gas export to Ukraine by 27.1% in January-May 2016 to 120,400 tons. Export proceeds dropped exclusively due to the fall in export prices of liquefied gas, which was prompted by a drop in oil prices, the official said.
The average export price for liquefied gas supplies from Belarus in January-May stood at $248 per ton, down by 19.5% YoY.
Liquefied gas exports by Belorusneft edged down by 50.1% YoY in 2015, to $196.538 million. In physical terms, Belarus’ liquefied gas export grew by 3.5% in 2015 to 578,000 tons. In 2015 the major destinations were Poland (20%) and Ukraine (20%).
Belorusneft was founded in 1964. The company is specialized in exploration work, oil extraction, gas processing and offers a wide range of seismic exploration operations.
Belorusneft runs a gas-processing factory, a research institute and service facilities. Belorusneft also owns over 60% of gas filling stations in Belarus. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
