The State Property Fund of Ukraine puts up the Odesa Sparkling Wine Factory for sale at a starting price of UAH 87.4 million.
“The Odesa Sparkling Wine Factory, one of the oldest enterprises, was put up for privatization. It was there in 1899 that the history of sparkling wine production in Ukraine began,” the State Property Fund’s press service posted on Facebook.
The factory was built with cellars to hold 2 million bottles of wine, a production building and auxiliary facilities. In more than a hundred years of existence, wine production at the Odesa factory has been stopped several times, the last time it happened in 2018.
“Since then, the state has not produced wine at the factory, and its capacities were later leased out,” the Fund notes.
The factory privatization auction with a starting price of UAH 87.4 million is scheduled for February 1.
One of the conditions for privatization is the preservation of grape wine production activities. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
