Railway cargo transportation between Belarus and Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast went up 7.4% over the same period of 2015 to 4.47 million tons, the press service of Belarusian Railways reported.
The railway export of Belarusian cargoes to Kaliningrad Oblast made up 319,800 tons (up by 48.5% YoY). The transit of cargoes exceeded 4 million tons (up by 5.6% YoY). In the first six months of the year Belarusian and Kaliningrad railways transported more than 4,700 passengers (up by 1.7%).
On July 21-22, Minsk will host the talks of the heads of Belarusian Railways and Kaliningrad Railways. The sides will focus on the important aspects of bilateral cooperation between the railway administrations of Belarus and Russia. They will also discuss cargo and passenger transportation figures in 2015 and H1 2016, outline development prospects. During the visit the delegation led by Kaliningrad Railways Director Viktor Golomolzin will see Belarusian railway infrastructure objects. Kaliningrad specialists will also visit ZAO Stadler Minsk.
