Bulgarian National Bank received the “Individual or Organization That Contributed to Limiting and Preventing the Informal Economy Through an Active Position” award in the national “Bright Economy” competition, organized by the Industrial Capital Association in Bulgaria.
The award was given for the effective management of the euro adoption process in Bulgaria. The nomination justification states that participation in the eurozone increases financial transparency, introduces stricter regulatory standards, and deepens integration into the European financial infrastructure, thereby limiting the shadow economy.
The competition, held since 2013, recognizes institutions, organizations, individuals, and media outlets that have contributed to the fight against undeclared employment and the shadow economy. The ceremony was opened by Bulgarian President Iliana Yotova. (Novinite)
