The Government continues to develop the cogeneration network. It will ensure energy security for communities and independence from large facilities that are being deliberately destroyed by the enemy. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised this and announced that she had instructed the Ministry of Energy to submit a plan for increasing cogeneration for the next year, with indicators and measures, until the end of December.
“We expect to double the current capacity. In addition, we are removing regulatory barriers. I have tasked the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture with creating a single window for businesses on issues related to connecting to networks. The algorithm for entrepreneurs must be simple and understandable, and we will promptly consider and resolve all issues,” said the Head of Government. “We are developing financial incentives for businesses to invest in cogeneration. We are working on a special gas tariff for owners of cogeneration plants, which will use their capacities to ensure the operation of critical infrastructure facilities in the regions.”
The Prime Minister emphasised that the Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 programme, grants and compensation programmes would continue to operate. A mechanism for insuring military risks will come into effect in 2026.
The Head of Government also commissioned the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission and the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate to ensure the protection of the rights of entities willing to participate in network development.
“More cogeneration capacity in the national grid means fewer power outages across the country,” concluded Yulia Svyrydenko. (Government portal)
